Journeys of Becoming...

Refunds and Returns Policy

Overview

Our refund and returns policy lasts 14 days and only applies to incorrect or damaged orders. If 14 days have passed since your purchase, we can’t offer you a full refund. We don’t offer exchanges on merchandise orders.

To be eligible for a return, your item must be unused and in the same condition that you received it. It must also be in the original packaging.

For hygiene purposes, please note that items of clothing are exempt from being returned. To complete your return, we require a receipt or proof of purchase. Please do not send your purchase back to the manufacturer.

There are certain situations where only partial refunds are considered:

  • Items with obvious signs of use
  • Any item not in its original condition, is damaged or missing parts for reasons not due to our error.
  • Any item that is returned more than 14 days after delivery

Delivery

We use a print-on-demand order fulfilment company to fulfil our merchandise orders. Usually, it takes 3–7 days to fulfil an order, after which it’s shipped out. The shipping time depends on your location, but can be estimated as follows:

● USA: 3–4 business days

● Europe: 6–8 business days

● Australia: 2–14 business days

● Japan: 4–8 business days

● International: 10–20 business days

[COVID-19] When will I get my order?

Our fulfilment times for all merchandise orders may be longer than usual and may continue to increase if there is any disruption due to COVID-19. We may see delays in our supply chain, including distributors and shipping carriers if the entire industry grapples with COVID-19 related challenges once again. It maybe difficult to predict the shipping times if there is further disruption due to COVID-19.

Where will my order be shipped from?

We work with an on-demand order fulfilment company with facilities worldwide!

Will I be charged customs for my order?

An additional customs and tax fee can occur on international orders. This fee is not in our control and is assessed by your local customs office. Customs policies vary widely for every country so please check with your local customs office directly to see if they apply duties and taxes to your purchases.

My order should be here by now, but I still don’t have it. What should I do?

Before getting in touch with us, please help us out by doing the following:

● Check your shipping confirmation email for any mistakes in the delivery address

● Ask your local post office if they have your package

● Stop by your neighbours in case the courier left the package with them

If the shipping address was correct, and the package wasn’t left at the post office or at your neighbour’s, get in touch with us at contact@mrsmummyphd.com with your order number. If you did find a mistake in your delivery address, we can send you a replacement order, but shipping will be at your own cost.

How are your products made?

We work with a print-on-demand drop shipper. They have locations worldwide, so depending on where you are, your orders are printed and shipped from the facility that can do it most efficiently!

How do I track my order?

You’ll receive a tracking link via email when your order ships out. If you have any questions about your tracking or shipment, drop us a line at contact@mrsmummyphd.com.

I received an incorrect/damaged product, what should I do?

We’re so sorry if the product you ordered arrived damaged. To help us resolve this for you quickly, please email us at contact@mrsmummyphd.com within a weeks’ time with photos of the damaged product, your order number, and any other details you may have about your order. We’ll get back to you with a resolution as soon as possible!

What’s your return policy?

We don’t routinely offer returns on our merchandise orders, but if there’s something wrong with your order, please let us know by contacting us at contact@mrsmummyphd.com.

Do you offer refunds or exchanges?

Refunds are only offered to customers that receive the wrong items or damaged items. If any of these apply, please contact us at contact@mrsmummyphd.com with photos of incorrect/damaged items and we’ll sort that out for you.

Can I exchange an item for a different size/colour?

At this time, we don’t offer exchanges on merchandise orders. If you’re unsure which size would fit better, check out our sizing charts—we have one for every item listed on our store, in the product description section. Though rare, it’s possible that an item you ordered was mislabelled. If that’s the case, please let us know at contact@mrsmummyphd.com within a week after receiving your order. Include your order number and photos of the mislabeled item, and we’ll issue a refund!

Refunds

Once your return is received and inspected, we will send you an email to notify you that we have received your returned item. We will also notify you of the approval or rejection of your refund.

If you are approved, then your refund will be processed, and a credit will automatically be applied to your credit card or original method of payment, within 60 days.

Late or missing refunds

If you haven’t received a refund yet, first check your bank account again.

Then contact your credit card company, it may take some time before your refund is officially posted.

Next contact your bank. There is often some processing time before a refund is posted.

If you’ve done all of this and you still have not received your refund yet, please contact us at contact@mrsmummyphd.com.

Sale items

Only regular priced items may be refunded. Sale items are not eligible for refunds.

Exchanges

We do not offer exchanges.

Shipping returns

To return your product, you should mail your product to: Mrs Mummy PhD Ltd, 124 City Road, London, EC1V 2NX.

You will be responsible for paying for your own shipping costs for returning your item. Shipping costs are non-refundable. If you receive a refund, the cost of return shipping will be deducted from your refund.

Depending on where you live, the time it may take for your return to reach us may vary.

If you are returning more expensive items, you may consider using a trackable shipping service or purchasing shipping insurance. We don’t guarantee that we will receive your returned item.

In this raw and honest moment from the podcast, Dr In this raw and honest moment from the podcast, Dr Milensu Shanyinde @workacademicmum opens up about the invisible weight so many mothers in academia carry—but rarely speak about.

Juggling her PhD and work life, navigating pregnancy and raising two young daughters during a global pandemic, Milensu talks candidly about the guilt, the overwhelm, and the internal tug-of-war between ambition and motherhood.

If you’ve ever felt stretched too thin, questioned your choices, or wondered if you’re doing enough—this episode will hit home for you.

Listen to the full guest episode on the Mrs Mummy PhD® podcast for more on Milensu’s journey, the lessons she learned, and the quiet strength behind her success.

Tune in to also find out the one thing she wish she had while she was navigating PhD life and motherhood simultaneously.

What I really love about her story isn’t only how she was able to see her PhD through to completion while juggling all the things, but also how she managed to land the leadership role of her dreams in her post-PhD era.

Mama, don’t be distracted by doubters👇🏽

…because your journeys of becoming and purposeful outcomes will always speak for themselves, even if you’re also a Mama!

You’ll have a quiet, peaceful confidence about you that speaks volumes 🗣️

You see, for me, delayed was never denied because I knew there was no ‘standard way’ of navigating a PhD journey. Being a Mama before I began this journey and growing our family further during my PhD enhanced my journey in ways I can never explain… it was definitely not a hindrance or barrier to my success.

Was it harder? You bet!

Did it take me longer? Yes, it did.

Would I do it again? I’m not sure 🤔

But was it impossible? Clearly not!

What I realised, is that I had to hold the belief in who I was and get clear on my why, because I was enough and so are you! You are more than your PhD.

I nearly quit my PhD more than once... Not becaus I nearly quit my PhD more than once...

Not because I couldn’t do the work—but because I was exhausted, isolated, and felt like no one understood how hard it was to keep holding it all together.

These five truths could’ve saved me so much guilt, self-doubt and second-guessing.

Swipe through if you’re:
– Juggling all the things and writing your PhD thesis during nap times
– Wondering if you’re too behind to finish
– Feeling like both a horrible Mama and PhD student who is always in survival mode

If this sounds like you, you are not broken. You’re just juggling a whole lot alone—without the village/support you deserve.

💬If this hits home, DM me 'WELL' and let’s get you connected, refocused, grounded again, and back on track—without burning out.

"I can't tell you how many failed grant applicatio "I can't tell you how many failed grant applications I have had in the past year. They've been quite a few!..." she said.

This was a conversation I had last week with a very senior colleague...

It was a powerful moment of exchange....

She went on to share how many unsuccessful grant applications she'd had in the past year...

I also shared similar experiences of 'failure'...

The wins and successes we've had have been amazing but the failures have definitely stung HARD!

Two researchers, very different on paper...
And yet...
The level of shared understanding between us was profound.
The shared experience of 'failure' was normalised.
The effort was valued and appreciated.
The mutual support was beautiful.

We both felt seen, heard and understood.

But we both left that call inspired and motivated to not give up!

And so, here's the thing.... there is so much power in these conversations.

Sometimes you may never know the impact that a mundane interaction / mutual exchange can have, but I believe these conversations are so needed - not to champion mediocrity or diminish standards of academic excellence, but to normalise unsuccessful attempts, to celebrate effort and intention even when they don't lead to the desired outcome, to help us realise the potential for personal or professional growth and to motivate us to keep going.

Are you holding onto a previous version of yoursel Are you holding onto a previous version of yourself that no longer exists? I’ve recently sat with this thought… the reflections were powerful.

Here’s what my brain offered:

As a Mama juggling all the things, you’re allowed to use your PhD to design the life and career of your dreams, even if it looks different from what others expected of you or what you once thought it would look like yourself!

It’s okay if the current version of you is not the same version of you that got you to where you are. One may align with what is expected, the other may align with who/what/where you need to be in this season of life…

You can absolutely chart your own path without losing the skills you’ve accumulated over the years! A mindset of career creativity & design is the best gift you can give yourself while on the journey…

Join me on my brand new broadcast channel and let’s talk about this and more!

Here’s how a plot twist brought clarity…👇🏽

She finished her PhD... She chased the dream…

But when she became a Mama, this quiet question kept popping up:

Is this really the only way?

Dr Paulina Cossette gave everything to academia—until she realised it was costing her too much.

So she decided to edit the script!

In choosing a new path, she discovered something powerful: There’s more than one way to honour your education, your ambition, and your role as a Mama.

You do have options… and the best thing you can do for yourself, if you aren’t sure if academia is for you post-PhD, is to learn more about the options available to you!
